🇭🇺 Balkan Trip Day 19: Szeged, Hungary 🇭🇺

After a frantic drive toward the Romanian border, our global driver’s licenses got rejected—turns out you need a local license to enter Romania! 😅 Plan B activated—we detoured along Serbia’s border roads, bouncing through rural Hungary until a pit stop at a village "burger shack" refueled us. Finally, we rolled into Szeged around 5 PM—a serene, university-filled city that unexpectedly became a peaceful highlight! 🌆 First Impressions: • Quiet & scholarly vibe—no rush, just chill energy 🍃 • Dinner + evening stroll—lost track of time until 9:30 PM (!) • Tomorrow’s plan: Early walk before 9:30 AM departure to Budapest 🚗 ✨ Hidden Gem Unlocked: Szeged’s Dom Square & Votive Church ⛪ Hungary’s 4th-largest church, built after a 1879 flood 210 Neo-Romanesque grandeur with 54m dome + 91m twin towers 5 Free entry (climb the tower for panoramic views—if you dare the stairs! 😆) #BalkanAdventure #Hungary #Szeged #UnexpectedDetours #SlowTravel #UniversityTown
