🇮🇱 Dizengoff|Summer Day Eating Israeli Food with the Dog 🐕

There are only a handful of popular Middle Eastern spots in downtown Philly — but is Israeli food considered Middle Eastern? This place feels pretty Westernized, but the flavor, service, and vibe are all solid. Heard they recently renovated (and since my friend trashed Laser Wolf 😅), we decided to come back. …But we brought our dog, so we sat outside — didn’t get to enjoy the newly renovated interior at all 😂. 🍽️ We ordered the Tafrit set menu – $53/person. 🧆 Hummus Sampler – Yerushalmi + Tehina + Turkish My friend loved the Yerushalmi — wanted to take some home. I preferred the Tehina — light, fragrant, not heavy. The pita bread was soft and delicious — even as a carb-avoider, I enjoyed it. 🥗 Salad/Mezze 🦆 Duck Salad – Really tasty! The crispy rice crackers on top reminded me of childhood snacks 😄. Duck leg meat was tangy and spicy, watercress slightly bitter — very refreshing. 🐠 Za'atar Seared Tuna Recommended by the server — another crudo 😅. Lightly seasoned and fresh — Crudo Queen approved ✅. 🍛 Entrées 🐟 Cod Chraime – WOW the chili here is super spicy!!! 🌶️🔥 My friend and I love spice, so we loved it — but the fish itself was just okay. Avoid if you don’t do heat. 🐑 Slow-roasted Lamb Neck – Very lamby — I loved it, but skip if you don’t enjoy that gamey flavor. 🍮 Dessert: Malabi Server said it’s “similar to panna cotta” — an Middle Eastern-spiced panna cotta 🍮✨. Not too sweet — really good. I also taught the server a Mandarin curse word because of the dessert’s name 😂 — later he asked about visa requirements for traveling to China… bro, you’re asking the wrong person. 🥃 Cocktail: Milk & Punch Whiskey-based but surprisingly light and easy to drink. 🐶 Dog-friendly service They knew we were bringing a dog — brought water for our pup without asking. Bill had a 20% mandatory gratuity, but totally worth it for the experience. #Philly #PhillyEats #IsraeliFood #DogFriendly #Dizengoff #MiddleEasternCuisine #SummerEats
