🇮🇷 Iran | Have You Heard of Persian Poets? 🌍

Did you know? 🤔 In ancient Persia, there was a poet 🎭 whose status in Persian literature was akin to Li Bai's in China 🇨🇳. It is said that the influence of his poetry here is second only to religious scriptures 📜. His mausoleum is located in Shiraz 🏰, a city in southern Iran filled with birdsong 🐦 and the fragrance of flowers 🌸. And this is the place I want to introduce today: the Tomb of Hafez. 🕌 📚 About Hafez 📖 As a household name in Persia, Hafez has been given many titles 🏷️, such as "Tongue of the Divine 👅," "Interpreter of Heaven's Will 🌌," and "Nightingale of Shiraz 🐦." His creative peak coincided with the late period of Mongol rule in Persia 🏹, so his poetry often satirized and exposed the invaders 😤. In addition, his poems are mostly lyrical 🎶, celebrating spring 🌱 and flowers 🌺, yearning for wine 🍷 and love 💘, and longing for justice ⚖️ and freedom 🕊️. His aspiration for a better life 🌟 and his deep affection for the poor 🥺 made him beloved by the Iranian people 🇮🇷. Even the great German poet Goethe praised him: "You are a ship 🚢 with full sails, cutting through the waves 🌊, while I am but a small boat 🛶 tossed by the sea." 🌊 In Iran, due to Hafez's profound impact on Persian culture 🎨, October 12th is designated as Hafez Day. 🗓️ ⛲ About the Tomb of Hafez The Tomb of Hafez we see today was actually built 20 years after his death ⏳ and was later redesigned and restored by a French architect 🇫🇷 in the 1930s. Today, the site is lush with vegetation 🌳, filled with birdsong 🐤 and floral scents 🌷. The entire mausoleum complex consists of gardens 🌿, corridors , fountains ⛲, and buildings 🏛️ that align with Persian aesthetics, with Hafez's tomb prominently placed in the garden 🌼. It is said that the tomb was inspired by the hat 🎩 Hafez wore during his lifetime. Every afternoon, sunlight ☀️ bathes the white marble tomb, as if the great poet has transcended time and space ⏳🌌, still sitting in this beautiful garden 🌸, savoring wine 🍷 and contemplating how to turn the scenery before him into his next poem 📜. As a visitor 🧳, whenever I think of this, everything around me feels dreamlike 🌠, both comforting 🥰 and sacred 🙏. ❤️ The Romance of the Persians 💑 This is a place where locals outnumber foreign tourists 🧳. Every day, many locals come to pay homage to this literary giant 📚. People sit on the ground with his poetry collections in hand 📖, sipping coffee ☕ while listening to the poems playing on loop in the garden 🎶—what a delightful scene 😊. I think this is perhaps the unique romance 💘 of the Persians: reciting the verses of this great poet in a Persian garden 🌸, just like we might stand by the Yellow River 🌊, drinking wine and reciting "Bringing in the Wine." 🍶 It feels as if the romance of different eras intertwines in this moment ⏳💞. Both Li Bai and Hafez loved wine 🍷 and freedom 🕊️, and both represent the pinnacle of poetic achievement in their respective civilizations 🌍. And for us travelers 🧳, being able to experience this uniquely Persian romance thousands of miles away is truly a blessing 🙌. #GlobetrottingOnTheRoad 🌍 #Globetrotting 🧳 #TravelWithXiaohongshu 📱 #IranTravel 🇮🇷 #Shiraz 🏰 #Hafez 📜 #TravelInspiration ✨ #CulturalSites 🏛️ #Travel 🌍 #MyTravelDiary 📔 #TravelMoments 📸
