🇮🇹|Venice Half-Day Budget Travel Guide
🏨 Accommodation: Venice is divided into the main island and the mainland. I recommend staying on the mainland – Mestre area. It’s much cheaper than the main island and has convenient transportation. 🚌 Transport: Venice has two airports. Both have airport buses that go to the main island and Mestre – make sure you don’t get off at the wrong stop! If you stay in Mestre, you can take the train to the main island. The ticket is €1.5, and it only takes 10 minutes. The train station in Mestre is called VENEZIA MESTRE. You can buy tickets at the red Trenitalia self-service machines inside the station. 🗺️ Route: Venezia Santa Lucia Station → Ponte degli Scalzi → Rialto Bridge → St. Mark's Square → Libreria Acqua Alta → Bridge of Sighs → Accademia Bridge 💡 Tips: If you have enough energy, I recommend walking the whole way – about 20,000 steps. Vaporetto (water bus): Single trip €9.5, valid for 75 mins. 1-day pass €25, 2-day €35, 3-day €45. There are many stops – some are crowded with long queues, while others are easy to board. Since stops aren’t too far apart, just walk a bit to a less crowded one. Gondola: You can share a ride with others – €90 per boat. Water taxi: Quite expensive, not recommended. 🍹 Food & Drinks: Try the Venetian specialty Spritz – fruity and super tasty! Even non-drinkers loved it. We tried the popular SUSO gelato – waited 10-20 mins. Honestly, it tastes similar to other good ice cream. The famous tiramisu at Tres Mercanti sells out fast. We went around 4 PM and it was already gone. Black squid ink pasta is a must-try! Looks messy but tastes amazing. Libreria Acqua Alta (sunken bookstore): The staff weren’t friendly, it was crowded, and the overall experience wasn’t great. #ItalyTravel #Venice #BudgetTravel ✨🇮🇹
