🇮🇹 Buffalo|Hidden Gem Italian Restaurant
🇮🇹 Buffalo|Hidden Gem Italian Restaurant|Foodie Check-in 🍝 Was strolling around downtown’s Theatre District taking photos 📸, walked past this restaurant and decided to try it blind! Turned out unexpectedly delicious!! And the ambiance was lovely too! We both agreed we’d definitely come back! 💖 ————————————————————— 📍 osteria 166 (166 Franklin St, Buffalo, NY) ————————————————————— About the dishes: —— The Carl 🍖 $17 Their signature dish! Must order!!! Two kinds of meatballs held together with a knife. The top layer is pork, the bottom is beef (not 100% sure), texture is super firm! The bottom layer has a hint of star anise. I really loved the sauce—added chili gives it a spicy kick! Layers of flavor—seriously, you have to order this! 🔥 —— Bucatini Alla Carbonara 🍝 $21 Exactly what we think of as creamy pasta! I’m a huge fan of sticky, saucy pasta! The noodles are thicker than usual (a bit like Chinese “beef tendon noodles” but not that thick), topped with a raw egg yolk! Rich, creamy flavor, but my friend said it wasn’t overly heavy. We both loved it! 🥚🧀 —— Vanilla gelato 🍨 Not a huge portion, maybe two scoops. Very rich vanilla flavor! Also heavy on the creaminess! But not too sweet! Highly recommend ordering it with the chocolate cake below! ✨ —— Chocolate cake 🍫 The chocolate cake came out huge!! But it’s not too sweet—not like typical American dessert sweetness. Since I don’t usually eat sweet stuff, I really loved this cake!! Paired with the vanilla gelato, it balances perfectly. So good! 🎂 Our per-person total came to around $52 (including tip and tax)—price is totally acceptable! 💰 Honestly, Buffalo is basically a food desert! Finding good eats is so hard! Might as well just pick blindly LOL 🌵😆 #buffalo#BuffaloNY#UniversityAtBuffalo#ItalianRestaurant#HiddenGem#RestaurantDiscovery#FoodieCheckIn#FoodExploration#LetsExploreTogether#Food
