๐ฎ๐น Day Trip from Turin: Gran Paradiso National Park ๐
๐ Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso Located near the town of Aosta, about 2.5 hours drive from Turin ๐ ๐งญ The itinerary is divided into three main parts: 1๏ธโฃ Valnontey โ A great starting point for hiking (approx. 2.5 hours to the top). The foot of the mountain is a small village with pastures where you can spot cows and sheep ๐๐. During the climb, you might encounter wild deer and various kinds of mushrooms ๐. 2๏ธโฃ Lunch in Cogne โ Several nice restaurants with meals ranging from โฌ10-20 per person ๐ถ (no coperto charge!). Finally got to try Lasagna in Italy โ a bit salty but delicious nonetheless! ๐ 3๏ธโฃ Cascate di Lillaz (Lillaz Waterfall) โ You can hike up from the main trail, pass a platform with a bar and open grassland ๐. From there, you can descend closer to the waterfall (waterproof hiking shoes recommended!). The return route along the mountain path is even prettier โ multiple viewpoints and on sunny days you might catch a rainbow over the waterfall ๐! This trip is relaxed and beginner-friendly: ๐ Comfortable shoes are fine (hiking shoes ideal) ๐งฅ Layer with a windbreaker + fleece + light down (backup) ๐ Thick outdoor pants (single layer might be too cold) ๐งข A beanie is a good idea We went on Oct 6th โ 8-9ยฐC ๐ก๏ธ, but it felt warmer while walking. A long-sleeve T + lightweight windbreaker + waterproof trekking pants (thin fleece) were just enough! Late October should be even more beautiful with golden mountains everywhere ๐โฐ๏ธ โ go for it! ----๐บ๏ธ Note: On Google Maps, Gran Paradiso is actually marked near two lakes โ that area looks even more stunning and is more convenient if you have a car. #TurinHiking #HikingEurope #TravelItaly #AlpsHiking #GranParadiso #AutumnAdventure #ChillVibes #TurinDiaries
