🇮🇹 My One-Day Venice Travel Guide 🌊✨

1️⃣ Avoid crowds by staying on the main island 🏝️ If you want to experience Venice peacefully, book a stay on the main island to enjoy the quiet mornings and evenings. We thought China’s Labour Day crowds were intense—until we met Venice’s tourist armies! 😅 2️⃣ One day is enough ⏳ We left Mestre Station at 8:30 AM and returned at 7:30 PM—with plenty of time for breaks. We even spent 3-4 hours hiding from the heat in cafés ☀️🍹. Note: We skipped church and bell tower lines (too hot!). 🚆 Transport tip: From Mestre, just head to the right platform (ask staff—we almost waited at the wrong one!). 3️⃣ Hide from the sun between 1-4 PM 🥵 Good weather = brutal sunlight. Perfect time for a long lunch or Aperol Spritz at a scenic bar 🍸! Stay indoors—even I, a dedicated no-umbrella traveler, regretted not bringing sun protection. 4️⃣ Photo tips 📸 You’ll find pretty bridges everywhere—no need to hunt. Just wander and snap! ✨ Highlights: Accademia Bridge & Ponte della Paglia. ⚠️ Skip Rialto Bridge (too crowded!). Pro tip: Ask a friend to shoot you through Florian’s window—super photogenic! 5️⃣ Food recommendations 🍦☕ Gelateria Gallonetto: Try the pistachio (+€0.5) and passion fruit! Caffè Florian: World’s oldest café ☕💰. Yes, it’s pricey (€10-20/drink), but everywhere in St. Mark’s Square is. Great place to hide from the sun! 6️⃣ Skip these 🚫 Libreria Acqua Alta (the “sunken bookstore”): Overhyped + staff kept yelling “Go go go!” 😤. Riverside restaurants: Many require full meals (no drinks-only!). Ask before sitting! 📍One-day route (no backtracking): Mestre → St. Mark’s Square → Bridges → Gelato → Florian → Gondola Spotting → Back to Mestre #Venice #ItalyTravel #TravelTips #SoloTravel #EuropeDiaries
