🇮🇹 Turin Local Student Food Guide 🍽️📚
I’ve wanted to make this collection for a long time – a list of my favorite restaurants in Turin! Sadly, I’ve lost many food pics 😢 Will update this list from time to time! 1️⃣ Nautilus BBQ 📍 Corso Regina Margherita, 172, 10152 Torino TO ⏰ Open: 18:00 - 3:00 (late-night bites available!) ✅ Must-order: Lamb skewers Chicken wings Sweet potato skin Spicy sour noodle soup Pork rib skewers (with green pepper – so fragrant and not greasy!) ⚠️ Okay but not mind-blowing: Beef short ribs Lamb chops Beef skewers (a bit too fatty for me, but friends like them) Enoki mushroom skewers Grilled zucchini Grilled chives ❌ Skip: Korean BBQ (marinade is too bland) 💡 TIPS: If you’ve tried Jiushi Ji BBQ in Florence, you might find this place milder (they have lots of local customers!). Bring your own chili powder for extra kick 🌶️! The guy taking orders is super handsome, super nice, and even teaches you Italian – so cuteeee 😍 Theirand are the most authentic I’ve tried in Italy – 70% close to the real deal! 2️⃣ Kira Cafe 📍 Via XX Settembre, 6, 10121 Torino TO ⏰ Open: 11:30 - 22:00 ⚠️ Heads up: Often fully booked – call ahead! Front desk can be rude (first-timers be mentally prepared😅). The chef is straightforward and nice, but food can be inconsistently salty. ✅ Must-order: Spicy chicken skeleton Hand-torn cabbage Celery with dried tofu Dry pot pork intestines Sweet & sour pork ( – Shenyang style with tomato sauce!) ❌ Not recommended: Dry pot cauliflower (bland) Dry pot beef (small portion) crayfish (expensive & only tastes like spices) Steamed pork ribs with sticky rice (underseasoned) Tofu with century egg (doesn’t reflect the chef’s skills) Chicken stew with mushrooms (not authentic, but the noodles are good!) 3️⃣ Mala Tang 📍 Via Goito, 4/f, 10125 Torino TO Tried this recently after getting off the train – cheap and pretty good! Highly recommend the cold water spinach salad – €5 for a huge plate! 💃 Their chili oil is the BEST I’ve had – sweet-spicy style, not too hot. The Lanzhou noodles are hand-pulled (a bit thick the day I went, but very chewy). Their “BBQ” is actually more like deep-fried skewers – well-seasoned and super affordable. We ate a ton for just €25 for two! Nice atmosphere inside too. 4️⃣ Xiaoyaotang ✅ Must-order: Braised dishes – ABSOLUTE PERFECTION 🤤 ⚠️ Warning: EVERYONE I know says it’s extremely spicy! Unless you’re like me and eat raw chilies for fun, proceed with caution 🌶️🔥. The boss is straightforward and kind – not sure why some posts said it’s not spicy! #TurinEats #StudentEats #FoodGuide #TurinFood #ChineseFood #EatLikeALocal #FoodReview #StudyAbroadLife 🇮🇹✨
