🇮🇹 Venice Travel Guide
🏨 Accommodation ✔ Stay on the main island (especially if you travel light)! Safe even at night—we walked around at 11PM as two female travelers. ✖ Don’t be scared by blogs recommending Mestre (near the train station). Main island = convenience + magical nighttime vibes! 💰 Remember: Pay the city tax (cash/ATM) + apply for the access fee online. 🚤 Transport ✅ Get a day pass (use the official app—scan QR code before boarding!). Ticket checks happen! 🛶 Try the €2 hand-rowed ferry (cash only, 5-6min ride): Route: Santa Maria della Salute → St. Mark’s Square (no queue!). 🏝️ Island Hopping 🌈 Burano (Rainbow Island): Chill vibes, great for photos (but not much to do). 🪸 Murano (Glass Island): Go early! Shops close by 6-7PM. 🏖️ Lido: Skip it. Windy + mediocre beaches (free ones are far to walk). 🏰 Main Island St. Mark’s Square: Impressive (no need to enter paid sites). Churches/Bridges: Snap pics outside—they look similar inside. ⏳ Half-day enough if skipping indoor attractions. 🍝 Food Recs 1️⃣ Ristorante San Silvestro (€45/person): Decent squid ink pasta (but scarce squid bits!). Salad = over-salted. 2️⃣ Arcicchetti Bakaro: €1 snacks + €3 wine. Basic taste, but friendly owner! 3️⃣ I Tre Mercanti: Tiramisu (great first bites, then meh). Hot jasmine tea = surprisingly good. 4️⃣ Pizzeria al Gazebo: Late-night option. Seafood risotto (€20) = small portion. 🛒 SPAR Supermarket: Cheap & fresh (peaches/cherries = delicious!). 1.5L water = €0.29! #Venice #ItalyTravel #BudgetTips #GelatoAndGondolas
