🇯🇵 Supposedly the Best Hand Roll Spot in Las Vegas… 🫣

BAR ITO 📍 Promenade Food Hall, 2777 S Las Vegas Blvd Level 2, Las Vegas, NV 89109 🕒 Sun–Thu: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM | Fri–Sat: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM 🌟 Located on the second floor of the newly opened Fontainebleau Las Vegas hotel’s food hall. 🌟 The hotel isn’t on the main Strip, but they still charge for parking – no free parking here 🅿️ (unlike other off-Strip hotels like Wynn, which offer free parking). 🌟 The food hall has been pretty quiet since opening, but it’s clean and comfortable (maybe because it’s not crowded). During Christmas last year, I made a special trip to try BAR ITO – the much-hyped Japanese hand roll spot 🇯🇵 – but it was closed, probably due to low traffic. This Easter, I tried again and finally found it open! 🌟 I thought about trying everything on the menu, but my gut said: when a place has few customers, the turnover might be slow and ingredients might not be fresh (biggest fear: stale sashimi!). So I started with the most basic salmon bowl to test the freshness. 🌟 For $12, you get a palm-sized bowl with a few scoops of lukewarm rice topped with just 4 thin, cracked slices of salmon. The fish wasn’t exactly “sticky” stale, but it had zero elasticity – just soft and limp. 😕 🌟 This place is pricey (small portions, might need $50+ per person to feel full), ingredients are average (low foot traffic = slow sales), and variety is limited. If you’re curious, give it a try – but I was pretty disappointed and won’t be back. 🌟 On a brighter note: Miami Slice, a pizza spot in the same food hall, is delicious! 🍕 Freshly made, reasonably priced. Our family loves the mushroom truffle pizza – first time we tried a slice, next time we bought a whole pie as big as our faces! 🌟 Late last year, many stalls in the food hall weren’t open yet, but now most are running – including a highly recommended bagel place! 🥯 Have you been to BAR ITO or the Fontainebleau food hall?
