🇰🇷 Who Watched the Sea in 5 Different Korean Cities in a Year?
This year, I chased the ocean across South Korea—and every coastal spot left a totally different memory. Here’s my "sea-chasing diary" with all the highs (and tiny meltdowns!): 🌊 Busan – Fireworks, Pink Sunsets & Blue-Hour Magic Haeundae Beach: Hopped on a speedboat and accidentally caught sea fireworks 🎇! The bursts of color reflecting on the waves? Absolutely breathtaking. Gwangalli Beach: Witnessed a pink sunset that painted the sky and sea in soft rose hues—my phone storage was filled with photos of it. Cheongsapo Yeongdo Coastal Road: Strolled along the path, keeping an eye out for the "sea train" (a local scenic train that runs by the coast) – finally spotted it, and it looked like a tiny toy moving along the shore. Gamcheon Culture Village: Spent an entire afternoon here, but the bad weather ruined my photo plans—I was so frustrated I thought the trip was a bust. Then blue hour hit: most tourists left, the little colorful houses turned on warm lights one by one, and the village became quiet and peaceful. It was so beautiful I quickly set up my tripod again—worth the wait! 🏝️ Jeju Island – Winter Sun & Jellyfish Sea I visited Jeju twice in winter, and both times I got lucky with great weather in Aewol-eup: Hyeopjae Beach: Fell in love with its white sand and "jellyfish sea" (the water is so clear it looks like jelly, hence the name) – I’ll never forget how blue and pure it was. Off-Season Perks: No lines at cafes or restaurants, and no crowds in photos—total bliss! But warning: the sea breeze was so strong it messed up my hair every time I stepped outside 😂. 🌅 Sokcho – Calm Deep Blue & "Human University" Landmark The sea in Sokcho feels deeper and calmer to the eye. At Yeonggeumjeong Pavilion, the summer sun made the sea sparkle with tiny white spots—like someone scattered diamonds on the water. Shoutout to my friends for taking my "life photos" here (photos that make you go "that’s the best version of me")! Sokcho Beach: Checked out the iconic andmark (the Korean initials for Sokcho) – but it looks exactly like the abbreviation for "Renmin University" in Chinese! Who else sees it? ⛴️ Wolmido Island (Incheon) – Seagulls & Carnival Laughter Took a ferry to Wolmido and fed seagulls with shrimp crackers ! Throwing the crackers into the flock, then watching a random lucky seagull catch it mid-air was so fun. P.S. The shrimp crackers were so good I ate a lot myself 😋. My Land Theme Park Wandered around the park, which has a Ferris wheel 🎡, pirate ship, and other rides. Spotted the "Crazy Disco " (a spinning ride often seen on Korean variety shows) – watched people ride it for ages, laughing at their funny reactions the whole time. #TravelKoreaLikeThis #KoreaSeaViews TheSceneryIVisitedThisYear #ReverseTravelGetOut #ThisIsTheMeaningOfNewYear #JustGoFirst #TravelNotForCheckingIn
