🇰🇿Almaty Two Lakes & One Canyon: Special Forces One-Day Tour Almaty,

✅Preparations: For day trips around Almaty, you can usually book through kktour or joinme, but the one-day tour covering two lakes + Charyn Canyon is likely only available via joinme. You can sign up via WhatsApp by jumping from their Instagram. When registering, make sure it’s the Kolsay+Kaiyndy+Charyn tour (as shown in Picture 12) – don’t mistake it for the other one without Charyn Canyon. The full itinerary is in Picture 11: departing at 5 AM and returning at 11 PM, truly a "special forces" schedule ⏰. 1️⃣Charyn Canyon ⛰️ (1.5 hours): It takes about 3-4 hours to drive from Almaty. The snow-capped mountains along the way are stunning 🏔️ (Picture 2). Upon arrival, you can choose to walk uphill for a panoramic view (relatively easy) or downhill to explore the Valley Castle (Pictures 3+4, more tiring, or you can take a car 🚗). 2️⃣Black Canyon ⛰️ (15 minutes): A 20-minute drive brings you to the second check-in spot (Picture 5). The steep canyons and rushing rivers are worth a look 🌊. 3️⃣Kolsay Lake 🏞️ (1.5 hours): After lunch, a 30-minute drive takes you to Kolsay Lake. Personally, this is the highlight of the trip – it lives up to its reputation as "Little Switzerland" 👍 (Pictures 1+7). After getting off the bus, you can choose to take a car, ride a horse (Picture 6), or walk to the lake. There’s a café by the lake for relaxing views, and boat rides are available (though time is tight ⏳). 4️⃣Kaiyndy Lake 🏞️ (1.5 hours): After leaving Kolsay Lake, a 40-minute drive reaches a village, where you’ll transfer to an old Soviet iron train for a 30-minute ride to the entrance. The train bumps over rough roads, even crosses water, and drivers blast loud DJ music – the whole car has to "dance" passively (Picture 9) 🕺. At the entrance, there are 3 ways to reach the lake: hiking, taking a rickshaw for 20 minutes + a short walk, or horseback riding. Most people choose the rickshaw. When I reached the lake (Picture 8), I was a bit disappointed – it didn’t quite match the bumpy journey (though the rickshaw ride was fun 😂). On the way back, I saw the camping area (Picture 9) and envied it a lot. Then we had to "dance" for another hour on the train back to the parking lot. After the tour, we repeated the morning journey, driving 4 hours back to Almaty on dark country roads 🌙. A few reminders: Lunch is served at a rural restaurant an hour after Black Canyon – it’s basic "survival food". If you’re picky about meals, bring your own snacks 🍞. Use the restroom at the first and last stops – these are the most decent places to go all day 🚻. #KazakhstanTravel #Almaty #AlmatyTwoLakesOneCanyon #CharynCanyon #KolsayLake #KaiyndyLake #almaty #CharynCanyon #kolsayLake #kaiyndyLake
