🇲🇦 One Day in Casablanca, Morocco is Enough!
Before coming, I had high expectations for Casablanca—the legendary white romantic city—but it turned out to be just okay. Not many attractions, one day is enough to explore. It’s a good entry/exit point for Morocco. Itinerary: ♦️ Arrived the night before – Had dinner at Complexe La Cascade by the sea. The view was nice, but it was crazy expensive. One drink cost ~$40 per person. Could be a fancy first meal to start the trip. ♦️ After dinner, took a walk along the corniche to see the Hassan II Mosque at night. ♦️ Stayed at Courtyard by Marriott – Breakfast was decent but weirdly had no meat except tiny sausages. Not happy! 😤 ♦️ Next morning (~9 AM) – Headed straight to the Hassan II Mosque, the 3rd largest mosque in the world. A third of it is built over the ocean because, according to legend, the late King Hassan II dreamed that Allah said, "The throne of God shall be built on water." Join the free hourly guided tour—it’s the only way to go inside! Loved that it welcomes everyone, regardless of religion. ♦️ If you miss a tour, walk around the mosque’s exterior and take photos by the sea. Very peaceful! ♦️ After the mosque, walked 15-20 mins to Rick’s Café (yes, from the movie!). Had an overpriced coffee ($10! ☕💸). Never seen the film, but it’s a must-visit for vibes. Wouldn’t recommend eating there, though. ♦️ Next, strolled to the Old Medina (local market). Loved the chaotic, authentic atmosphere! A bit sketchy, so stay alert. ♦️ For dinner, tried La Sqala (local recommendation). First time having Tajine—sweet & salty with dates. Yum! ♦️ Skipped the Moroccan hammam (bath) and went back to the hotel. If you’re up for it, check opening hours! Verdict: The city is white but kinda dirty and chaotic. Two days max—no need to stay longer! #MoroccoTravel #Morocco #Casablanca #CasablancaTravel #CasablancaFood #Morocco🇲🇦 #Casablanca🌊 #WorldTravel #OffTheBeatenPath #TravelDiaries ✈️🌍
