π²πͺ Kotor, Montenegro | A Foodie's Guide to the Old Town
Among the Balkan countries, Montenegro does have higher prices than the others, possibly due to the use of the Euro. However, I found the cost of dining to be within my budget, especially considering the prevalence of seafood, which would likely cost a similar price in Shanghai. I stayed in Kotor for three days and would like to recommend a few restaurants in the old town that offer delicious meals worth trying: 1οΈβ£ Restoran Cesarica ππππ π₯ See photos π° Average cost per person: 30-40 Euros This place is incredibly tasty; we even dined here twice. π‘ It's very popular in the old town, so remember to make a reservation in advance. They mainly serve seafood, and the hostess will warmly introduce which seafood is fresh that day. The seafood paella is excellent, with large shrimp, and their rice is the best we've had. The grilled cuttlefish is very tender, and the fried squid rings are also great, with the potato side dishes being delicious as well. The seafood platter is quite substantial, enough for two people. For appetizers, definitely order the spicy thick fish soup, which is more suited to Chinese palates. 2οΈβ£ La Catedral Pasta Bar ππππ π₯ See photos π° Average cost per person: 20 Euros A well-known pasta place in the old town, we queued for nearly an hour on our first day, but the next day, there was no queue, making us suspect they might have learned some Chinese marketing tactics (jokingly). Be sure to add cheese crumbles, which offer two distinct flavors. The seafood pasta is quite good. 3οΈβ£ Little Bay ππππ π₯ See photos π° Average cost per person: 25 Euros Our last meal before leaving was at this restaurant, where their meat sauce pasta tasted the most like what we're used to in China. The huge grilled squid tentacles are drool-worthy. The ambiance is also great, with outdoor sheds providing a very relaxed dining experience. 4οΈβ£ Moritz Eis πππ π¦ See photo π° Average cost per person: 3.3 Euros We tried their ice cream because they have several shops in the old town. It's recommended to go for creamier milk flavors rather than fruit/sorbet options, which were quite average. I would have given them 4 stars, but one day we bought three ice creams for 10 Euros, and the lady didn't give us change, which I found quite amazing. Almost every restaurant in the old town has ice cream, so feel free to try others as well. #KotorOldTown #KotorFood #Montenegro #MontenegroTravel #BosniaAndHerzegovina
