๐ฒ๐ช Montenegro Solo Travel Guide for Two Days ๐งณ
Accommodation: ๐จ Highly recommend the Pupa Hostel quad room, which is very clean and doesn't affect sleep or washing. The location is excellent, just a six-minute walk from the bus station and the old towns of Perast and Budva. Right outside is the boat to the Blue Cave, making it incredibly convenientโa truly heavenly hostel. Transportation: ๐ For groups, you can rent a car right next to Tivat Airport for 40 euros a day. Transportation here is quite backward, and Google Maps won't show bus stops; you have to ask locals. Ticket purchases can be made through Busticket4me (it's recommended to only check schedules and buy tickets offline, as online purchases are more expensive and refunding is troublesome in case of unexpected situations). Communication: ๐ถ Buy a 15-day unlimited data plan locally for 15 euros. Avoid the mobile data from China, which costs 35 and barely lasted two hours before losing connection. For two days, I was mostly offline, relying on Wi-Fi from shopping malls and stations, and asking for directions verbally. Food: ๐ฝ Kotor Pekara AS pastry shop has delicious beef pies. Near Budva station, there's a fast-food joint with beef burgers for 3 euros, which are huge in portion but average in taste. Travel: Day 1: ๐ข Arrive in Kotor and head to Pupa to drop off luggage, then go directly to the Blue Cave for 35 euros. ๐ Take the Blue Line from Pupa to Perast for 2 euros. ๐งโโ๏ธ Climb the wall for a 15-euro entrance fee, which takes less than 1 hour (you can also climb it for free between 5 am and 8 am). My biggest mistake was climbing the wrong mountain, taking 2 hours to go up and 3.5 hours to come down, with a lot of rocky paths. It was a experience. To descend faster, I started taking shortcuts through bushes, getting scratched and almost stranded. Don't fully trust social media! It's recommended to climb for an hour and then head down. Day 2: ๐ฐ Budva is average and can be explored in 3-4 hours, then head to Sveti Stefan for 2.5 euros. ๐ Strongly recommend Sveti Stefan, my favorite spot, with a seaside park. Other Tips: ๐ Most locals are friendly and gave me a ride even if they didn't understand English. I traveled with three Turkish girls for half a day. Solo travel is relatively safe; just be cautious and keep your belongings secure. Recommended photo spots include the island during the return trip from the Blue Cave and definitely swim at the Blue Cave and Sveti Stefan. Best for travel from June to August, although hot, the weather is good, a bit like Switzerland. Recommended for budget travel without a visa. The total cost for the trip was around 2300 RMB. #UK #Montenegro #MontenegroTravel #SoloTravel #BudgetTravel #BudgetTravelGuide #Kotor #Budva #Perast #Recommendations
