🇲🇰 Autumn Escape to the Lesser-Known North Macedonia (With Travel Ti

🧳 Discovering a hidden gem, I explored North Macedonia for four days during the end-of-month holiday from Germany. Expectations were low, but the surprises were immense—low prices, beautiful scenery, though language and currency could be a bit challenging. Here's a four-day travel route: 🍺 Day 1: 🛫 Hamburg to Skopje: 9:20 to 11:55 🚖 From Skopje Airport, it's a 1-hour trip to the city center with V2V or Wtransporter (departs at 13:30) or a direct taxi for 25€ (some have bargained down to 17€ on Xiaohongshu). 🕑 14:30 departure: Skopje Old Bazaar – 450m, 6min walk – Skopje Fortress – 650m, 8min walk – Macedonia Square – 25m, 1min walk – Vardar River's Five Bridges – 450m, 6min walk – Macedonian Triumphal Arch – 900m, 13min walk – St. Clement of Ohrid Church – 2.8km, 15min by bus – Central Bus Station (bus departs at 17:54) 🚌 Skopje to Ohrid: 18:30 to 21:30 Day 2: 🛌 Wake up naturally, depart at 10:00 🏡 Homestay – 550m, 7min walk – Ohrid Lake Cruises (Mato Catamarans Excursions) – 700m, 10min walk – Ohrid Boardwalk – 200m, 3min walk – St. Sophia Church – 400m, 8min walk – Ancient Theatre of Ohrid – 450m, 8min walk – Ohrid Samuel's Fortress – 450m, 8min walk – Church of Saints Clement and Panteleimon – 350m, 6min walk – St. John Church (watch the sunset, arrive before 17:00) – Old Bazaar Street (stroll and shop) Day 3: 🚤 Boat tour for the day 🕙 Depart at 10:00, return at 15:00, arrive at the dock at 16:20 Day 4: 🏞 Trpejca Village – Hike in Galičica National Park I think four days is just right for this trip. The capital, Skopje, is suitable for one day, and Ohrid is perfect for two to three days. You can stay in the city center for 15-20€ per person. Prices are half of what you'd pay in Germany, and you hardly see any Asian faces throughout the country. This year, I want to explore more countries beyond #GermanLife #EuropeanLife #OffTheBeatenPath #Travel #EuropeanTravel #UKStudents #GermanStudents #NorthMacedonia #TravelDiaries 🌍🧳🚶‍♀️🏞️
