🇳🇱 Amsterdam: The Quirky "Land of Giants" 😊

Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands (literally "city on a dam"), is famous for its canals, bicycles 🚲, tulips 🌷, windmills, and masterpieces—though not for its food (just my opinion!). The city is compact, and I "special-forced" all key landmarks in 24 hours . 📍 City Center ✔ Rijksmuseum ⭐: Must-see! €25 (adult), book ahead. Museum card accepted. The Night Watch by Rembrandt is the highlight. ✔ Van Gogh Museum ⭐: €24 (adult), book ahead. Houses the largest Van Gogh collection. ✔ Dam Square ⭐: Free central square. ✔ Royal Palace: €13.5 (adult). Square is free. ✔ De Oude Kerk: €13.5 (adult). One of the oldest churches. ✔ Red Light District ⭐: "Brighter" than France’s 😅. Opens at night—watch for "coffee shops"/drunk people. Some areas are 🔞. ✔ Flower Market ⭐: Tulip bulbs, seeds, souvenirs (pricey!). ✔ Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge): Double-leaf wooden drawbridge. ✔ Westerkerk: Tower offers city views; Rembrandt’s burial site. ✔ Anne Frank House: €16 (adult), museum card accepted. 📍 Day Trips ✔ Zaanse Schans Windmill Village: €7.4 round-trip from Amsterdam. Windmills, clogs, and a paid museum. ✔ Zaandam (LEGO Town): Just glance from the train to Zaanse Schans. 🍟 Food (Meh...) ✔ Manneken Pis Fries: Viral fry shop (sauces galore, €5+). ✔ Pancakes Amsterdam: Sweet/savory Dutch pancakes (€17+). ✔ FEBO: Fast-food wall vending machines (€3+ for kroket/burgers). ✔ Van der Linde: Cash-only ice cream (like frozen cream, €1.6+). 🚌 Transport Trains: NS app/kiosks. City Transport: GVB day pass (€9, trams/buses/metro). 📌 Amsterdam kicked off my Schengen Europe trip! Bikes are tall, fast, and everywhere—watch your step! Souvenirs (fridge magnets, Miffy, rubber ducks) are adorable—a cute contrast to the "land of giants"~ Follow for more Europe guides! #NewYearTravel #BeyondChecklists #JustGo #Travel #Foodie #Europe #Netherlands #Museums
