🇳🇱 Post-Class Food Adventure in Leiden!
1️⃣ Bocconi Pasta Italiana 🍝 This place specializes in handmade Italian pasta, though I spotted some people enjoying pizza too! Ordered the creamy mushroom pasta and creamy salmon pasta—personally loved the mushroom one, which had a cozy flavor reminiscent of Chinese mushroom chicken stew 🍄🐔. Pasta comes in two types: pappardelle (wide noodles) and farfalle (bow-tie pasta). This time, we tried the pappardelle. Both dishes were €15 each, and the portions were huge—couldn’t even finish them! 😅 2️⃣ Madame Marie 🍎☕ A cozy little spot filled with the warm scent of cinnamon—very similar to that famous apple pie place in Amsterdam! The apple filling was slightly tangy but balanced well with the whipped cream. Not overly sweet—a rare find in Dutch desserts! 🥧 Best shared between two people (it can get a bit rich). Drinks (coffee/tea) were decent but nothing special—good for cutting through the sweetness. Open Thu-Sun only, near the Law School. ~€7-8 per person. 3️⃣ Pizzeria Giuseppe 🍕🐱 Classic Italian joint—tried a salami pizza and prawn pasta. The food was good but not mind-blowing—the prawns were huge, but the salami was a tad salty. Pro tip: Eat it while it’s hot! The outdoor seating made it cool down too fast. Their tiramisu was quite sweet with a strong boozy kick (likely made with whipped cream + mascarpone). Personally prefer the egg-and-mascarpone version though! 😋 ~€16 per person. Bonus: There’s a chonky resident cat—sorry for the unflattering pic, kitty! 🙏 (No offense, neko-chan…) #Netherlands #Leiden #FoodExploration #Eats #DutchFoodie
