🇳🇵Nepal Food Hunt | Pokhara's Meat-Feast Western Terrace Bistro
📍Smoking Yak While wandering around Pokhara, our attention was caught by this terrace bistro tucked away on a corner. Smoking Yak's exterior isn't particularly eye-catching, but as we pushed open the door and walked up to the second-floor terrace, we were instantly amazed — wooden tables and chairs paired with green plants, and a glimpse of distant snow-capped mountains when looking up. The afternoon sun filtered through the parasols, making the air feel lazy and relaxed. It's said to be even more atmospheric in the evening when the lights are on, with warm yellow glow reflecting the night view of the terrace, which sounds absolutely charming~😻😻😻 The three of us had just come down from the Poon Hill trek, and after days without a proper meat meal, we went straight for the meat options as soon as we sat down. The meat dishes on the menu made our eyes light up. In the end, we ordered three main courses, and the portions were so generous that we were stuffed to the point of needing to hold our stomachs, yet still couldn't finish them all🤣 Highly recommend the chicken burger! We didn't have high expectations, but taking a bite was a pleasant surprise — the soft burger bun with a slightly charred aroma, and the juicy chicken patty inside that oozed with juice. Paired with fresh lettuce and a special sauce, the sweet and sour flavors were perfectly balanced, making every bite satisfying and fulfilling. The medium-rare steak was also good. The outer layer was seared to a crispy finish, and when cut open, the inside was a pink, tender color. Dipping it in black pepper sauce was delicious; the only downside was that the accompanying fries were a bit soft. The grilled chicken breast excelled in its tenderness, with the spice-sprinkled outer skin having a light smoky flavor. Served with a vegetable salad to cut through the richness, it's a reliable and solid choice.😍😍😍 When we checked out, we found the prices reasonable too. Three main courses plus drinks came to less than 100 RMB per person, which is good value for a Western restaurant in Pokhara. If you've just finished a trek and are craving a big meat feast, or simply want a cozy place to soak up the sun and chat, this spot is definitely worth a visit~ #PokharaFood #PokharaNepal
