Bring a jacket! Seriously! The wind here is next-level—I’ve given up on my hair already 😂 ✈️ From Airport to City Center 🚌 Airport Express (AX) Bus: Accepts card/cash/Apple Pay/Snapper card. $12, runs every 15 mins. Don’t forget to press the stop button! ☕ Eats & Drinks 🍽️ The Hangar: Jay Chou-approved! Tried their Flight Flat White—smooth with bright acidity. 🥓 Pork Eggs Benedict was crispy outside, tender inside—yum! 😋 🍽️ Best Ugly Bagel: Hands-down the best bagels in town! 🥯 🏠 Where to Stay 📍 Cuba St / Wills St area: Super central—most sights are 10-15 mins walk away. 🎒 Budget pick: Trek Global Backpackers (great location). 🚶 City Walk Itinerary (Top to Bottom) ▪️ Government Buildings: Free but requires online booking. ▪️ Cable Car 🚠: $12 round-trip. 5-min ride to hilltop with 360° views + Botanic Garden. ▪️ Old Bank Arcade: Jay Chou’s photo spot! 📸 ▪️ Waterfront Walk: Snap the "WELLINGTON" sign at the end. Chill at a harbor café (if you dare the wind! 🌬️). ▪️ Wellington Museum: Free! ▪️ City Gallery: Closed for renovations, but the giant finger sculpture on the roof is iconic. 👆 ▪️ Te Papa Museum: Best interactive museum in NZ! 6 floors + earthquake simulator. Still free when I went (supposedly $35 soon?) ▪️ Cuba Street: Hub for shopping, food & nightlife. 🍻 ▪️ Mount Victoria Lookout: Panoramic city views! ▪️ Wellington Sign: Bus accessible if no car. 🚍 🌬️ About Wellington Nestled between hills & harbor, this compact, artsy capital packs a punch! 🎨 Walkable yet windy AF—holds the title for world’s windiest city! 💨 #NorthIslandNZ #NZWorkingHoliday #TravelNZ #BackpackingNZ #LifeInNZ #Auckland #Wellington #TravelGuide
