🇸🇮 Slovenia • Ljubljana Highlights Tour

Before coming to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia 🇸🇮, I couldn’t even pronounce its name. Ljubljana, Ljubljana, Ljubljana – repeating the important things three times. Although I only spent one day in Ljubljana, I was completely captivated by its charm, exclaiming: This country is totally underrated! Without further ado, here’s today’s itinerary: The center of Ljubljana isn’t large. Key spots to visit include the Dragon Bridge 🐲 (perfect for photos), St. Nicholas's Cathedral, and the Ljubljana Central Market. If you get the chance, climb up to Ljubljana Castle 🏰 for a panoramic view of the entire city. The main highlight: A drive northwest from Ljubljana takes you to Lake Bled, which feels like being in a national park. You can pay to take a boat to the small island in the middle of the lake, where there’s a church ⛪, a museum, cafés, and souvenir shops. The church requires an entrance fee – inside, you can ring the bell three times to make a wish (it’s a bit strenuous; you have to pull the rope hard!). On a hill near Lake Bled stands Bled Castle 🏰, which also requires an entrance fee. The castle has a restaurant where weddings 💒 can be held. The view of the island in Lake Bled from the top of Bled Castle is absolutely stunning – unfortunately, the sunlight was too strong today, and all my photos were overexposed... Photography enthusiasts must not miss this! I left feeling like I hadn’t had enough fun.
