🇺🇸🇲🇽 A Visit to the U.S.-Mexico Border Wall in El Paso
After wrapping up at White Sands National Park, I made a last-minute decision to drive to El Paso to see the Mexican border wall and grab dinner nearby. 📍 Finding the Wall: First, navigate to Sunland Park, New Mexico, then head toward Anapra Road. That’s where you can get a clear view of the border wall. There were Border Patrol vehicles driving along the wall 🚔, and one agent politely reminded us not to get too close while taking photos. Still, the scale of the wall—and what it represents—is striking. 🌮 Dinner at Andale Mexican Restaurant & Cantina: We ate at Andale Mexican Restaurant and Cantina – affordable, authentic, and seriously tasty! I’d recommend the tacos and a margarita. 😋 🚨 A Bit of Drama: Right as we arrived at the restaurant, more than twenty police cars zoomed past us with sirens blaring. Turns out, there had been a shooting at a nearby mall 😱. Thankfully, we were safe, but it was a tense moment. Later that night, on our way back to New Mexico, we were stopped twice by immigration officers asking about our visa status 🛂. Both times, we answered honestly and were let through without any issues—no extra checks. It was definitely an eventful evening—a mix of curiosity, good food, and a brush with local news. If you’re in the area, the border is worth seeing… just stay aware of your surroundings! #ElPaso #BorderWall #USMexico #TravelTexas #NewMexico #RoadTrip #AndaleRestaurant #TravelDiary #AdventureTime
