Corralito Steak House Casino Sunland Park — Restaurant in Sunland Park

For the first time, went to Corralitos at Sunland Park Casino on Sunday, JAN 8, 2023, about 1:00 pm, with my family (five of us). The food was excellent. The prices were reasonable. The only negative aspect was the customer service provided by Carla. Carla generally demonstrated a haughty attitude and was not timely in attending us.

If I/we knew that Carla was to attend us a second time, we wouldn’t go back to Corralitos. One of our male family members tried to talk and give a tip to Carla at the end of the meal, and in a very arrogant manner, Carla visibly ignored him and walked away.

Another of our male family members went to talk to the manager (Luis was his name I think) and the manager says that Carla was hungover and he was going to send her home. Not sure why employees are working hungover at this supposedly fine dining establishment. Not even sure why the manager offered this less than professional response.

From what I may tell from other ELP Corralitos, they usually have high standards for food and customer service. At the Sunland Park location, while the food was excellent, Carla’s lack of even decent customer service made our dining event negative.

We rate this four of five for the excellent food, the young busboy’s great attitude and the bartender...

This place has always been the worst. After several visits to the races and always ordering food it has gotten worse and worse. Yesterday my friends and I 8 of us, got a table in the Jockey Club. I ordered us the super duper nachos. Well, what we were served was pitiful. Seriously, how can you ruin nachos??? Where do I begin? Cold canned cheese sauce for starters. Cold canned chili and beans! Zero jalapeños. An ice cold daub of shredded beef on top.! How can I forget…old and stale chips! We all tried one then I got upset. I called our precious server, Liz, over and spoke to her privately about the nachos. I pointed out everything I’ve listed. She was speechless. I asked her to take the plate back, put in the chefs face, and how in the world could he ever expect anyone to eat that slip??? I told her to ask him if he’d serve that to his mother? His wife? His girlfriend? I’ll bet my golf clubs that he wouldn’t. Precious Liz tried to make it better and offered to bring us wings. I agreed. And, not surprisingly, they were horrible. Non consumable. Even the track employees tried to console us. They said that they learned LONG ago to NEVER eat there. Diner be warned....

I travel the I-10 frequently and have stopped here for dinner several times. That being said, my visits here will cease after recent repeated unsatisfactory meals.

The two salsas they serve at the table with chips are good independently but better mixed together.

The empenadas are usually good, but the ribs are unsatisfactory, just go to the BBQ place just north of here. There is a Tuna Tostada appetizer that is usually good, but depends on the cook of the day whether it's appetizing.

As for the bar, expect to be disappointed. This last time, they were out of Captain Morgan, Jack Daniel's and Coca Cola.

If there is a large group already seated, don't bother waiting for a chair. There was a couple seated after us that tired of waiting for one of the 6 wait staff to come and take their drink order. They got up and left after our drinks were delivered. When we ordered an appetizer, we were told it would take 30 minutes due to the large party, so decided to wait. The order was never placed, I found out the third time I asked for it to be checked on after 30 minutes.

I came here for convenience in the past, and service has been good and bad from...
