🇺🇸 Austin | aba | The Menu Is So Long I’m Overwhelmed!
Hey foodies! 🍽️ Every Austin trip starts here for me — aba, the super popular Mediterranean spot in Austin! I’ve been three times and still haven’t tried everything, but I’ve figured out some ordering hacks. If it’s your first time and you’re stuck, this guide is for you! |Hummus| Can you even go to a Mediterranean restaurant without ordering hummus? 😍 I highly recommend the meat versions — Spicy Lamb and Short Rib are both flavorful and rich. The creamy hummus paired with tender meat, dipped in warm pita bread, is absolutely addictive! 🥙 The veggie options are lighter and fresher (perfect for summer!), but if it’s your first time, go for the meat — you won’t regret it! 👍 |Brunch| Short Rib Shakshuka — the beef is fall-apart tender, the potatoes are super flavorful, and the tomato sauce is rich but not overwhelming. Scoop it up with pita bread for the ultimate comfort bite! Perfect for those who love bold brunch flavors. 🍳 |Mediterranean Butcher| My top pick from this section is the Pork Belly — crispy skin, juicy meat, balanced with gooseberry and onions to cut through the richness. 🐖 It’s great for sharing with 2-3 people without feeling heavy. |Kebab| I’ve tried three: Beef & Lamb Kefta, Chicken, and Salmon. I’m not a huge fan of ground meat, so Kefta wasn’t my fave. But the chicken and salmon are solid choices — tender, generously portioned, and served with a refreshing tomato-cucumber-onion salad. 🥗 Pair it with rice for a seriously satisfying meal! |Dessert| Sticky Date Cake — MY ULTIMATE RECOMMENDATION! 😍👑 This is the dessert king at aba! Sweet but not overly so, with a crispy caramelized top and a moist, dense cake inside. Served with ice cream, it’s the perfect grand finale! 🍮 These are my tried-and-true, least-risk, best-value picks from multiple visits! Of course, taste is subjective — I’d love to hear your favorites too! 💬 #Austin #AustinFood #AustinEats #AustinTravel #MediterraneanFood 🌿
