🇺🇸 Austin Food Diary | What I Ate in a Week (Part 1)
As someone from the South, I LOVE Austin’s weather! ☀️ Sunny days just make everyone so energetic—it’s the complete opposite of gloomy Pittsburgh. Who doesn’t love a good sunny day, right? 🥲 This week was all about art exhibitions + food adventures. Here’s what I tried! 🍜 Ramen Tatsu-ya 🌟🌟🌟 A decent ramen spot with solid portions, but nothing particularly memorable. 🦞 Mason's 🌟🌟🌟 A lobster roll shop near the SXSW conference. The rolls were light on seasoning—a bit more butter would’ve made them amazing! Still, the lobster was fresh and tasty. 🇹🇭 Sway 🌟🌟🌟🌟 A popular Thai restaurant! Tom Kha Gai: A coconut milk-based soup with lemongrass and chicken—absolutely delicious! We couldn’t stop sipping. Yellow Curry: Unfortunately, way too salty (maybe an off day for the chef?). Not recommended. Blue Crab Fried Rice: Fragrant and topped with crispy garlic—yum! Grilled Octopus: Just okay. Drinks: The watermelon-based "Monk Water" cocktail was mediocre, and the non-alcoholic coconut drink was bland. Skip ’em. 🍳 Another Broken Egg Cafe 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Soooo good! Very American-style brunch. Expect lines during peak hours. Lemon Blueberry Goat Cheese Pancake: Rich, tangy, and satisfying. Lobster Omelette: Packed with flavor and super filling. Highly recommend both! 🥞 Le Cafe Crepe 🌟🌟🌟 A cute crepe-focused café. Chloe's Crepe (sweet): Strawberry + banana + chocolate sauce (ask for it on the side if you prefer less sugar!). The Normandie (savory): Chicken, bacon, avocado with a tangy sauce—nice twist! Tasty, but not mind-blowing. #Austin #AustinFood #TexasEats 🍴✨
