πΊπΈ Day 1 in Minnesota: The State Capitol β So Worth It! ποΈβ¨
Drove from Rochester to St. Paul today and visited the Minnesota State Capitol β and wow, it did not disappoint! π Completed in 1905, itβs known as one of the five most beautiful capitol buildings in the U.S. Its dome is the second-largest unsupported marble dome in the country (only after the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C.!). Inside, the decor is absolutely stunning β filled with intricate mosaics, gold leaf π¨, Minnesota granite, Italian marble, and historic murals with classic quotes inscribed throughout. So grand and majestic! β¨ You can even see the original Senate and House chambers, and the public is welcome to sit in on sessions. Whatβs more β the building houses the Governorβs Office, Senate, House, and Supreme Courtβ¦ and get this β no reservation is needed! You can walk in freely πΆββοΈ, and even use the meeting rooms and reception halls for free. Hard to imagine something like this back home! π Feeling blessed and inspired. Thanks God! πβ€οΈ #Minnesota #StateCapitol #StPaul #TravelUSA #ArchitectureLover #History #FreeTour
