Minneapolisโ€”Behind the Glitz and the Grime ๐ŸŒ‡๐ŸŒŸ

Another day of exploring the Twin Cities, this time following some YouTuberโ€™s top xx things to do in Minneapolis. ๐ŸŒ‡๐ŸŒŸ Today, I visited a few lakeside mansions in Minnetonka near the hotel, getting a feel for this 10,000 lakes state. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ Then it was off to the Sculpture Garden, St. Maryโ€™s Cathedral, the State Capitol, the Cathedral of Saint Paul, Summit Avenue, a round trip on the Green Line tram, and finally, the Stone Arch Bridge to catch the sunset city view. ๐ŸŒ… Inside St. Maryโ€™s Cathedral, devout worshippers were praying for the suffering people in the Middle East. ๐ŸŒ‡๐ŸŒŸ The tolling of the bells was a poignant reminder that the world is not at peace. Today, being Columbus Day, the legislature was on holiday, allowing us to visit the opulent capitol building. Power always brings unimaginable things. Even in a democratic country, the capitol is inevitably solemn and lavishly decorated. ๐Ÿ• Less than a kilometer away, on slightly higher ground, stands the Cathedral of Saint Paul. ๐ŸŒ‡๐ŸŒŸ From the church steps, you can look down upon the capitol, evoking the sense that here, religion seems to reign above all else. ๐Ÿ• My son is a train and tram enthusiast. While wandering around the University of Minnesota campus, he saw the tram and insisted on riding it. It just so happened that there was a Green Line stop near the capitol. After just a few stops, several homeless people got on. They played loud music, shouted without a care in the world, and even smoked marijuana, filling the carriage with a noxious atmosphere. ๐ŸŒ‡๐ŸŒŸAs soon as we got off, the police got on to arrest them. My son said he never wanted to ride a tram again. ๐Ÿš‚ At dusk on the Stone Arch Bridge, with the city lights beginning to twinkle, everything returned to the most beautiful side of this city. Imagine growing up in a lakeside mansion in Minnetonka, attending private school, and working in the gleaming office buildings and capitol, while just a few hundred meters away, the homeless on the tram seem like two parallel lines that will never intersect. ๐ŸŒ‰ ๐ŸŒ‡๐ŸŒŸ What a damn cruel and unfair world! #USA ๐ŸŒŸ
