๐บ๐ธ Delicious Chinese Pastries in Philly's Chinatown!
Hey everyone, I highly recommend the pastries from Dim Sum Garden! ๐ฅฎ ๐ Dim Sum Garden 1024 Race Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107 I randomly grabbed a few pastries today, and wow โ I was instantly transported back to China with the very first bite! ๐ ๐ง Their pastry selection includes: Savory Mooncakes with Fresh Meat ๐ฅฎ Purple Sweet Potato & Salted Egg Yolk Pastry ๐ Red Bean Pastry Pork Floss & Salted Egg Yolk Pastry Coconut Pastry Everything is freshly baked โ my pastries were still warm when I got them! The staff mentioned that most of these are only available during the Mid-Autumn season, except for the savory mooncakes, which are sold year-round. They bake daily, so if you go late, they might be sold out! ๐ฅ My Absolute Favorite: The Purple Sweet Potato & Salted Egg Yolk Pastry! The crust is incredibly flaky, the purple potato filling is soft and smooth, and the salted egg yolk is rich and oily โ so good, I immediately wanted another one! The coconut pastry is also amazingly fragrant and delicious. ๐ฐ Very Affordable Pricing: While many private bakeries charge high prices for fresh pastries, Dim Sum Garden keeps it budget-friendly. The purple sweet potato pastry is $7, and all others are just $5! Plus, since itโs from a restaurant, the quality and freshness are totally reliable. ๐ They also offer gift boxes, perfect for sharing! Hereโs a little hack: A single purple sweet potato pastry costs $7, but the classic gift box (6 pastries) is only $35. If you choose all purple sweet potato pastries, itโs like getting one free! Super worth it! ๐ Itโs not easy to find delicious, affordable, and authentic Chinese pastries here in Philly โ a true blessing for international students missing a taste of home. Eating these pastries so far away from home really warms the heart. ๐ ๐ธ All photos are filter-free โ they speak for themselves!
