🇺🇸 Denver | Trying Hardcore Game Meat Since 1983! 🦬🐊
Denver’s local specialty is wild game, and the most famous spot—Buckhorn Exchange—boasts a menu full of exotic meats: buffalo, elk, quail, game hen, alligator tail, and more 🎯🍖. Since we’re here, why not try something new? 🐊 Fried Alligator Tail 👎 Bite-sized pieces, battered and fried 🍤🔥. Served with a tomato-mustard sauce. The meat is tough, and the aftertaste is fishy (like a dockside smell 🐟🌊). Not recommended for sensitive palates! 🐣 Quail, Duck & Game Hen The quail was the winner—juicy with crispy skin, similar to roasted pigeon 🕊️😍. The duck had a noticeable gamey taste 🦆😬. Overall, simply seasoned but slightly overcooked (hint of burnt flavor). The sauce was too salty, but the garlic butter mashed potatoes were the BEST side! 🥔🧄✨ 🐃 Buffalo & Elk Cooked medium-well with black pepper crust—perfect for those who dislike rare meat 🥩🌶️. Buffalo was lean (like sirloin), but I prefer ribeye. Elk tasted slightly sour and had a stronger gamey flavor—bold but acceptable 🦌💪. Verdict: Fun to try, but not my favorite 😅. However, the restaurant itself is a vibe! 🏞️🦌 The walls are covered with well-preserved animal trophies—like a mini museum. Absolutely impressive! 📸❤️ #USA #Denver#DenverFood #GameMeat #WildEats #BuckhornExchange #ExoticFood #FoodAdventure
