🇺🇸 Fairbanks, Alaska 5-Day Full Guide (Part 1)

🇺🇸 Fairbanks, Alaska 5-Day Full Guide (Part 1) Anchorage ➝ Fairbanks 🚗 Car Rental: Alaska 4×4 Booked a Jeep on the official website over a month in advance, but the airport counter said they were out of Jeeps and claimed they had "sent an email notifying me about the vehicle change, but I didn't reply" 😤. I immediately checked my inbox—no such email received! Already exhausted just after landing… If you book in advance, be sure to call and confirm before your trip‼️ They eventually switched me to a 4WD Chevrolet. Roads in downtown Fairbanks are slipperier than in the suburbs—saw so many cars sliding along the way 🛷. 💡 Tips: Drive slowly and don’t rush, start with a light touch on the gas, and definitely slow down when turning! Remember to take full photos of the rental car 📸. 🏨 Hotel: Candlewood The room comes with a small kitchen. Bought king crab legs from the Safeway across the street 🦀, $35/lb, and cooking them myself was absolutely amazing!!! 😋 🐕 Dog Sledding: Firewalker Malamute Kennel 95🔪/person The dogs are all super adorable 🥰! The staff will introduce the breeds in each area and even bring out puppies for photos 📸. The dogs pulling our sled were a bit mischievous—they kept taking lazy breaks along the way 😅. 🏍️ Snowmobile: Rod‘s Alaskan Guided Service 210🔪/for two They provide insulated boots, gloves, heated helmets, snow pants, and face masks ❄️, but you should still dress warmly—it gets pretty chilly when riding due to the wind 💨. Make sure to arrive early! It’s crowded, and you’ll need extra time to gear up ⏰. Their dog sledding isn’t highly recommended—no windproof blankets, just bare seats 😬. 🎣 Ice Fishing: Grandpa Jim’s Luxury RV Ice Fishing 160🔪/person The RV is super warm 🔥 and even has underwater monitoring so you can see if fish are near your bait 🐟. Grandpa Jim shares little tricks and is super friendly to beginners~I actually caught 3 fish—so much fun! 🎉 Not only do you get fried fish to eat, but also Grandpa’s secret braised rice and reindeer hot dogs 🌭, basically covering a whole meal! 💡 Tips: For winter ice fishing, booking a 1 PM slot is better since the fish are more active after sunrise 🎣. I booked 9 AM—it was pitch dark under the ice, and the fish were still sleeping. They only started biting after it got bright 😪. The meeting point is at Birch Lake, which requires driving there, but the road conditions are quite manageable (even a dry stretch 🛣️). 🧥 Clothing Guide: Upper Body: Loose Cashmere Base Layer + Costco Heated Vest + Sams Softshell Jacket + Aritzia Super Puff Windproof & Waterproof + Down Hat + Down Insulated Gloves 🧤🧣 Lower Body: Loose Cashmere Base Layer + Sinsin Fleece-lined Leggings + Arc‘teryx Sentinel Snow Pants / Columbia Snow Pants 👖❄️ #Alaska#FairbanksGuide#DogSledding#AlaskaIceFishing#AlaskaSnowmobile
