🇺🇸 First Trail Hike in Salt Lake City 🥾✨

I can’t believe it’s been almost a month since I arrived in Salt Lake City! Taking advantage of the Labor Day long weekend, I decided to hike the trail closest to campus. The Living Room Trailhead (It’s named because the rocks resemble living room furniture! 🛋️) 🐛 This is the closest trail to the university—just take Bus 223, get off at the stop, walk a bit, and you’re ready to climb! 👟 The total elevation gain is 500m, with a moderate-to-easy difficulty level. It takes about 1–1.5 hours to complete. There’s almost no flat ground—it’s pretty much all uphill! About 40% of the trail is shaded. 👣 I recommend hiking in the morning or early afternoon to avoid the intense heat and sun. Alternatively, go an hour before sunset to catch Salt Lake City’s stunning sunset 🌇 and night views! For gear, bring at least two bottles of water (one for ascending, one for descending). According to Google Maps reviews, there might be rattlesnakes 🐍, so it’s wise to carry emergency supplies. Even though the elevation isn’t extremely high, you can still overlook most of Salt Lake City’s urban layout and scenery! 🏙️🗺️ #SaltLakeCity #Utah #UniversityOfUtah #DailyLife #PhD #TrailHiking #ExploreSLC #NatureLover #SunsetViews #HikingAdventure #OutdoorFun #UrbanTrails #MountainVibes
