Pushed open the door at 6 PM and stepped into the dimly lit restaurant — surprised to see it already packed! Shared a knowing glance with my friend; we both knew we were in for a treat. 🍻 The warm, soft brioche served that day was heavenly 🍞 — paired with butter so soft it spread like a dream. The aroma of freshly baked bread mixed with creamy butter is something I still rave about! Couldn’t skip the French Onion Soup — topped with beautifully stretchy Gruyère cheese 🧀, and soaked with slightly sweet broth and crunchy baguette bits. I almost wanted to ask for the recipe! 🙋 The beef tartare came with a rich, golden egg yolk 🥚. Mixed with crispy shallots, nutmeg, and a hint of anchovy — my friend’s eyes lit up after the first bite! 💃 Duck Confit (Tuesday special!) was fall-off-the-bone tender 🦆. Served with creamy mashed potatoes and gravy — a perfect match. The Ricotta Gnocchi was the star of the night — soft potato dumplings with pan-fried cauliflower and mushrooms, all resting on sweet potato purée with cheese. Carbs = happiness 🧀! The braised and roasted pork chop had a five-spice vibe 🐖, while the flat iron steak was cooked perfectly — my meat-lover friend was impressed 🥩. (And can we talk about how shoestring fries >>> thick fries? 😉) Restaurant: Le Café Cent-Dix Location: 110 N Aurora St, Ithaca Downtown (next to Simeon’s!) This cozy French bistro is one of my top favorites in Ithaca 🥂. Moody lighting, great flavors — perfect for dates or chatting at the bar while watching the bartenders craft drinks 🍸. Heads-up: Service is slow (courses come in order), and they don’t take reservations. After 6 PM, you’ll likely wait.
