After a year and a half, I finally made it back to Philly! Here’s a quick list of my old favorites + recommendations from a local friend 👇 First up — my absolute favorite: Reading Terminal Market 🏪 It’s packed with amazing food, super central, and easy to get to. Street parking and garages are available, but public transport is way more budget-friendly! 🚉 1️⃣ Hershel’s East Side Deli 📍 Terminal Market, 1136 Arch St, Philadelphia, PA 19107 My go-to: the corned beef sandwich — I craved it right after landing! It’s huge — filling even for a hungry guy, perfect to share. Their cheesecake is also a win! 🥪🍰 2️⃣ By George! 📍 1136 Arch St, Philadelphia, PA 19107 A Philly classic — the cheesesteak! Generous portions, best shared so you can try more around the market 🥙 3️⃣ P6 (Next to Hershel’s) Sadly forgot the name, but it’s right next to Hershel’s — another delicious sandwich spot worth trying! 4️⃣ Termini Bros Bakery 📍 12th & Filbert St, Philadelphia, PA 19107 Locals rave about their donuts 🍩, but I’m not a big donut person. I tried the coconut cookie and other sweets — tasty but pretty sweet, even for me! 😆 5️⃣ Miller’s Twist 📍 51 N 12th St, Philadelphia, PA 19107 Soft, warm pretzels — great for a snack now or later! 🥨 6️⃣ John’s Water Ice 📍 701 Christian St, Philadelphia, PA 19147 Always a line! Famous for water ice — you can even combo it with ice cream. I tried mango + coffee chocolate chip — weird but wonderful! A true cheap & cheerful spot 🍧 7️⃣ Ba Le Bakery 📍 606 Washington Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19147 A Vietnamese gem with ready-to-eat meals. Their banh mi is a must-try!
