🇺🇸 My First Time Trying a Hong Kong Cafe in Philly's Chinatown! ☕️

As someone who always goes to NYC for cha chaan teng food, I was thrilled to discover Philly has its own gem! Tucked in a quiet corner of Chinatown, this spot offers great ambiance 😭 and super reasonable prices 🫠. 🍛 Sunny Side Up Egg with Char Siu The biggest surprise of the meal! Sweet, tender, not overly fatty char siu paired with a perfectly runny egg 🍳 — absolute perfection 😋 🧀 Baked Pork Chop Cheesy Rice Lots of cheese, LOTS of pork chop! The rice wasn’t fried (which would’ve added more fragrance), so with the sweet sauce and cheese, it felt a bit like an American lunch — but still solid given the portion and meatiness 😶 🍝 Seafood Pasta Light and delicate — great for seafood lovers who prefer milder flavors. Comes with clams, shrimp, and squid. 🍔 Kobe-Style Handmade Burger A super thick double beef patty! I even cut it into a perfect shape 😆 Served with toasted buns and BBQ sauce — very filling! 🐟 Unagi Rice Bowl Generous portion of eel with smooth egg — a nice choice if you’re craving unagi. 🍤 Spicy Wasabi Fried Calamari Crispy, chewy, with a hint of wasabi kick — so good! 🍢 Grilled Beef Skewers Well-marinated and tender — definitely tasty! 🍗 Typhoon Shelter Fried Chicken Wings Extra crispy skin coated in a sweet, savory Typhoon Shelter seasoning — a must-try! 🤩 🍮 Portuguese Egg Tart A bit cold 😭 Would’ve been better warm! 🥭 Mango Pomelo Sago Served as a dessert, not a drink! Includes pomelo jelly, mango jelly, chilled milk, and bursting boba — refreshing and fun! 🍵 Matcha Tiramisu Only $7.50 for a big box! Incredible value 🍰 🧋 Yuenyeung & Iced Lemon Tea Hot milk tea wasn’t too sweet — nice tea aroma with a slight bitterness. Iced lemon tea was a bit sweet — ask for less sugar! If it’s too sweet, just poke those lemon slices 🍋‍🟩 💚 Overall: A higher-end cha chaan teng with great vibe, pretty plating, and very fair prices! The star was the Sunny Side Up Char Siu Rice — the char siu was expertly made! Other mains are good — big portions, great value. Snack winner: Typhoon Shelter Chicken Wings!
