🇺🇸 Oahu, Hawaii | Most Scenic Oceanview Hike 🏞️

Lanikai Pillbox Trail is one of Oahu's most popular hikes—easier than Koko Crater (see my last post!) and famous for its stunning ocean views and abandoned military bunkers. From the top, you’ll see Lanikai Beach, the Mokulua "Twin Islands", and the endless Pacific. So beautiful it’s healing 😭✨ 🌅 Highlights 1️⃣ All photos taken at the summit—especially pics 2 & 7 (unreal views!). 2️⃣ Post-hike swim at Lanikai Beach (glass-clear water 💙). 3️⃣ Trailhead: Opposite a golf course (see map in pics). 🚗 Transportation From Waikiki: ~40 min drive. No dedicated parking—find street spots on Enchanted Lake or Kaelepulu Drive. Bus: Take Route 671 (Kailua-bound), then walk ~10 min to the trailhead. 📌 Trail Info Distance: ~2.5 km round trip (~1 hour). Difficulty: Moderate (steep sections, no railings). Best time: Sunrise (arrive 30 min early) or midday (fewer crowds). 📍 Photo Spots 1️⃣ First Pillbox (lower): Great for quick snaps. 2️⃣ Second Pillbox (higher): 360° views of Lanikai + Mokulua Islands. 3️⃣ Ridge Trail: Epic wide-angle shots (walk a few extra mins!). 📷 Pro Tips Shoot from the pillbox for dramatic ocean + beach + town backdrops.
