We returned to Palm Springs after 8 years! This time, we flew from Vancouver ✈️ to LAX, then rented a car and drove here. On the way from LA, don’t miss these stops: ⭐️ Ontario Mills – huge shopping mall ⭐️ Desert Hills Premium Outlets – luxury brands ⭐️ Hadley Fruit Orchards – famous Date Shake (4.5⭐ on Google) ⭐️ Cabazon Dinosaurs – giant dinosaur statues 🦖 ⭐️ Evening stop at Costco or Trader Joe’s for water & snacks 🛒 🌴 Day 1: ⭐️ Breakfast at Sherman’s (downtown Palm Springs location is more popular – 4.6⭐) ⭐️ Joshua Tree National Park – Start at the West Entrance Visitor Center to plan your route and buy tickets. Easy to drive with clear signs. We entered from the North Gate and visited: Arch Rock (highly recommended!) Skull Rock Barker Dam Hidden Valley ⭐️ Afternoon at Marriott Desert Springs Resort – famous flamingos 🦩, beautiful hotel, great for photos. Free parking! 🌴 Day 2: ⭐️ Breakfast at Elmer’s Restaurant (4.6⭐, 6K reviews) – try their German pancakes! ⭐️ Explore Palm Springs Downtown: Walk along Palm Canyon Drive See the Forever Marilyn statue 👠 Hike the Museum Trail for a stunning city view – highly recommended! ⭐️ Indian Canyon – Andreas Canyon Trailhead is photogenic and worth visiting (we skipped it this time as we’d been before). 🎈 Locals also recommend: Art Smith Trailhead (1-hour hike – good for hiking lovers) Tahquitz Canyon Josie Johnson Vista Park (scenic high-rated park) 🎈 20 mins from Joshua Tree is Pioneer Town – a Wild West-themed movie set town 🎬. Fun for photos, but skip if short on time.
