🇺🇸 Philadelphia|Fresh Cream-Green Middle Eastern Bakery 🥐

This Middle Eastern bakery is run by the chef behind the well-known Lost Bread Co. He comes from an Israeli-administered region of Syria 🇸🇾🇮🇱, so he doesn’t have a “legal nationality” but aims to share his local culture and flavors through baking. The shop is small, decorated in a soft cream-green tone with about four tables — cozy for weekday chats. They offer a wide variety of breads (both sweet and savory) and drinks. 🌟 Tahini, Maple + Pecan Babka Muffin Thought it’d be babka-textured, but it’s actually muffin-soft. Tahini + maple sounded unusual but paired beautifully — nutty and subtly sweet. Light and refreshing — highly recommend! 🌟 Carrot + Yogurt Safeha I’m team savory! Sounds odd but tasted great. The bread is wonderfully chewy, with carrot’s mild sweetness and Middle Eastern yogurt’s slight saltiness — surprisingly harmonious. Recommended! 👍 Talami A staff-recommended specialty: turmeric and fennel-spiced sweet bread with butter and strawberry jam inside. Not too sweet; even if you’re not into turmeric, it’s not overpowering. Grows on you bite by bite — great for spice lovers. 😐 Cinnamon-Cardamom Bun with Pistachio Cream Cheese As a pistachio fanatic, I had high hopes but was slightly let down. Cardamom and cinnamon were fragrant and lovely, but the bun itself was a bit too sweet for me. Pistachio cream was smooth and nutty, though the pistachio crumbs on top were a little stale. Try if you have a sweet tooth! 🍴 Majdal Bakery 📍 618 S 5th St, Philadelphia, PA 19147 💰 ~$10–20 #Philly #PhillyEats #ExplorePhilly #PhillyLife #HiddenGemCafe #BakeryLove #Baking
