🇺🇸 Philly|Decently Tasty & Pretty Meal at Vernick Fish 🐟
Yesterday, the Michelin guide for Philly came out — I was going to post this to ride the hype, but turns out the one that made the list is Vernick Food & Drink, not this one 🥲. Hype-riding fail. Went here for a birthday dinner — located on the first floor of the Four Seasons, felt a bit like a business meeting after work 😅 (not that it’s bad — I’d take more business meetings if I could!). The waiter knew it was my birthday — service was so thoughtful it almost gave me goosebumps 😳. They gave us the quietest table too. 🍣 Crudo & Asian Pear – tasty but tiny portion. 🍞 Bread service butter – interesting but just okay. 🦪 Oysters – quality was average. Five types from NJ waters, one from Canada, but the server couldn’t tell which was which 😬. 🐙 Octopus – tender and chewy, pretty good. 🐠 Grilled Branzino – just okay. The kimchi side tasted like the one from Hmart. 🍷 Opened a bottle of wine — forgot what it was but it was nice. They didn’t give a complimentary dessert because we brought our own cake 😔. TL;DR: It was fine. Oh, and I flexed by ordering a $19 Starbucks Cheesecake Berry Blast on my birthday 🥤💸 — but it was too thick to drink properly 😂. #Philly #PhillyEats #VernickFish #BirthdayDinner #FineDining #PhillyLife 📸
