🇺🇸 Sacramento Day Trip|Rafting + Historic Old Town Stroll 🚣♂️🏛️
Even in late August, Sacramento was still 37°C—perfect for rafting! 😎 Sharing last weekend’s itinerary, perfect for those who want a relaxing getaway with a touch of history and adventure! 📍 Itinerary Day 0|Friday Night Left the South Bay after dinner 🍽️, drove ~3 hours to Hyatt Place Roseville 🚗💨 Played Switch Mario Kart with friends—so much fun! 🎮🐢 Day 1|Saturday 8:00 Woke up for hotel breakfast 🍳☕ 9:20 Checked out and drove to the rafting point (~45 min) 🚗 10:30-13:30 South Fork American River Rafting 🌊 Booked through Raft California (Level 2 whitewater tour) 💡 Beginner/family-friendly—lots of kids! Water was cool, and the flow was gentle (a bit tame for us, but great for first-timers!). Guides were professional and patient 🧡. Showers available afterward—super convenient! 🚿 14:30 Lunch in the city—Azayaka Japanese Fusion 🍣🍜 Still open at 2 PM! Food was above Bay Area average 😋. A warm bowl of ramen was so comforting after rafting! 15:30-18:00 Old Sacramento Historic Walk 🏛️ Parked at 1289 Front St (Flat rate $15) 🅿️ California State Railroad Museum: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A must-visit! Not just trains—it deeply showcases the history of Chinese railroad workers in the 19th century, including their struggles under the Chinese Exclusion Act. Felt like an immersive history lesson 🚂📖. (This is the historical backdrop of Detective Chinatown 1900!) Tower Bridge: Iconic golden lift bridge! 🌉 Offers a distant view of the California State Capitol 🏛️. The old town streets are incredibly photogenic—historic buildings, railroad relics, and cute shops! 📸✨ 👕 What to Wear Late August in Sacramento is still hot—up to 37°C! 🔥 Recommended: T-shirt/tank top + sunscreen shirt + hat + sunglasses 🧢🕶️ For rafting: Quick-dry clothes + swimwear + water shoes (see P2 for our gear!) 👕🩳👟 🏨 Hotel Recommendation Hyatt Place Sacramento/Roseville Pros: Close to rafting, safe, free breakfast, some rooms have connecting doors! 🚪🍳 Sacramento is more fun than expected! Perfect for those who love light outdoor activities + historic vibes. One day was a bit rushed, but totally worth it—especially the railroad museum. Heavy but meaningful history. Highly recommend! 🙌 #Sacramento #BayAreaWeekend #Rafting #NorCalRafting #DayTrip #CaliforniaTravel 🌞🚣♀️📸
