🇺🇸 Sacramento Old Town 1-Day Trip

Did you know that Sacramento is actually the capital of California? 🏛️ It’s also playfully called “Three Mántou” (Three Buns) by some Chinese locals. Compared to Los Angeles or San Francisco, its downtown is much cleaner—though since the anti-camping ordinance took effect on July 1, 2024, homeless tents have become less common in those cities too. Progress takes time! Let’s get straight to the point—today I’m introducing Old Sacramento, a historic town where you can: Ride a luxurious horse-drawn carriage 🐎 Take a city cruise 🚢 Hop on a vintage train 🚂 Enjoy a mini Ferris wheel 🎡 and carousel 🎠 You can also explore local shops, try some ice cream, and experience cultural exchange activities. There are restaurants offering various cuisines—including Chinese food! 🥘 The town’s design and architecture reflect classic American 70s-80s style, with well-preserved wooden structures. Many buildings are decades old, making this a great destination for family trips or weekend getaways. It’s one of Sacramento’s most famous attractions. 💰 Costs: Parking around tourist areas is quite affordable. Weekends are busy, but you can usually find 2-hour street parking. ⚠️ Remember to move your car on time—or you might get a ticket! Always check street signs. Public parking lots charge around $5-6 for 2 hours. 🐎 Horse-Drawn Carriage: Prices range from $20–80. The $20 option covers a 15-minute tour around the town. Longer tours include parks and riverside views. 🚢 City Cruise: $20 for children $35 for adults There are three cruise options—the city sightseeing tour is for all ages, while the other two are for ages 21+. 🍦 Food: Plenty of reasonably priced restaurants (cheaper than LA or SF!). Don’t miss trying frozen yogurt—it’s a must in the hot weather! 🚗 Transportation: If you’re coming from Los Angeles, consider flying Southwest Airlines. Booking 1–2 months in advance can get you round-trip tickets for around $100—cheaper than driving! Plus, you get two free checked bags. Keep an eye out for flash sales! ✈️ From San Francisco, it’s about an hour’s drive (without traffic). Definitely worth the trip! #USA #USCapital #Sacramento #TravelUSA #CaliforniaTravel #BudgetTravel #OldTown #FamilyTrip
