Though since the no-camping ordinance took effect on July 1, 2024, homeless tents have reduced in those cities too – progress is slow but happening. Now let’s talk about Old Sacramento! This historic district is full of charm and fun: Ride a horse-drawn carriage 🐎 Hop on a City Cruise boat tour 🚢 Take a scenic train ride 🚂 Enjoy a mini Ferris wheel 🎡 and carousel 🎠 Explore unique local shops and enjoy ice cream 🍦 Try cultural activities and diverse restaurants (yes, including Chinese food! 🥡) The area is designed in a classic 70s–80s American style with well-preserved wooden architecture. You can really feel the history in these decades-old buildings. It’s a perfect spot for a family trip or a weekend getaway – one of Sacramento’s top attractions! 💰 Costs: Street parking is affordable, but limited to 2 hours on weekends ⏳🚗. Be sure to move your car or you might get a ticket! Public parking: ~$5–6 for 2 hours. 🐎 Horse Carriage Rides: Prices range from $20–80. $20 gets you a 15-min tour around Old Town. Longer rides include parks and riverside views. 🚢 City Cruise: $20/kid, $35/adult.
