🇺🇸 Salt Lake City | The Food at This Bar Is Absolutely Incredible!

Nestled on historic Franklin Ave (now renamed Edison St), this place was once a speakeasy hidden behind a risqué theater, selling illegal alcohol and gathering all kinds of rule-breakers (😉) back in the day. In the early 20th century, after city reforms, it transformed into the retro-chic bar it is today—now a favorite among downtown professionals. 🏙️🍹 Like previously recommended spots such as White Horse, Franklin stands out not just for its vibe and creative drinks, but also for its seriously delicious food. Honestly, the bar food here might even outshine some proper restaurants—it’s a Utah specialty! 🧆🍖 Remember to bring your ID—it’s a bar, so entry is 21+. 🍴 Black Cod A must-order! Though the miso and dashi flavors were subtle, the sweet soy glaze shone through. The cod was incredibly tender and buttery, melting in your mouth—a familiar and comforting taste. Highly recommend! 🐟❤️ 🍴 Pork Belly Gnocchi The pork belly 🥓 was perfectly prepared—chewy skin, crispy and flavorful meat that stayed juicy. Served in a smooth, rich apple-pumpkin-chicken broth. A bit heavy after a while, but so satisfying! 🍴 Duck Ragu with Mafaldine A decent wide-noodle pasta dish, though the duck was slightly dry. 🦆🍝 🍴 Squid Ink Chitarra Loved the wild mushrooms—tender, slightly crisp, and full of umami. But the sauce was too acidic for my taste. The squid ink pasta was cooked al dente, which might be too firm for some. 🦑⚫ 🍴 Deviled Eggs Beautifully presented deviled eggs 🥚 with crispy duck skin on top—a genius touch! Sadly, too tangy for me (I’m sensitive to acid, though many people love it!). 💵 Average $70 per person Atmosphere ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🅿️ Street parking—can be tough during peak hours Franklin Ave Cocktails & Kitchen 231 S Edison St, Salt Lake City, UT 84111 #RestaurantRecommendation #VibeDining #FoodReview #GlobalEats #FoodIsLove #DiningOut #SaltLakeCity #FoodShare #MyFoodDiary #DailyEats #HiddenGems #BarLife #WeekendPlans #100Challenges #BarHopping
