đşđ¸ Salt Lake City Japanese Cuisineď˝Takashi â A Slight Letdown đŁđ
The famousâŚTakashi! JustâŚaverage! After returning from Yellowstone, we craved Japanese food. Searching online, we found many recommendations for downtownâs Takashi, hailed as the "best Japanese restaurant in Salt Lake City." We went with high hopes. The sweet shrimp and sea urchin were the bestâsweet, creamy, and tender, with the sea urchin having an almost ice-cream-like texture. đ¤đ But everything else was pretty mediocre. The tuna was especially disappointingâwe ordered Toro, and it just wasnât good đĽš. It lacked the rich, buttery texture youâd expect from fatty tuna. The sashimi platter was also just okay, with some pieces not tasting fresh at all. The restaurant is quite popularâit opens at 5:30 PM, but we arrived at 5:15 and there was already a long line. It seemed like mostly white professionals from nearby offices. If you plan to go, arriving early might be necessary. Conclusion: Overhyped and not really worth it. If you go with no expectations and just order the sweet shrimp and sea urchin, it might be okay. But if youâre expecting something amazing, you might end up disappointed like I did. đ đ°: Around $80+ per person for two. #SaltLakeCity #SaltLakeCityEats #Takashi #JapaneseFood #FoodReview #FoodLetdown #MixedFeelings #NotWhatIExpected #SushiLovers #HypeVsReality #DiningOut #UrbanEats #FoodieLife #KeepItReal
