🇺🇸 San Antonio is Worth the Trip!
On the last little stretch of our holiday, we made a spontaneous decision to visit San Antonio. 1️⃣ First, we stopped at Texas’s largest BUC-EE’S for lunch. Their giant sausage was so filling and delicious 🌭😋, and the $0.99 mega-sized drink was an absolute steal! 👍 2️⃣ Friends had recommended SeaWorld. Even though Texas cooled down yesterday and it was a bit chilly, at least it didn’t rain. We arrived around 2 PM, tried a few kid-friendly rides 🎢, and finished with the orca show — it was amazing! 🐋💙 Hopefully next time we can try some of the thrill rides. 3️⃣ At 5 PM, we checked into our pre-booked hotel. The room was clean and had a fridge and induction cooktop — perfect if you want to cook 🧑🍳🏨. The only hiccup: our online rate ended up being about $150 more at check-in — not sure if it’s a deposit? 💸 The staff said they’d clarify tomorrow. 4️⃣ By 5:45 PM, we were hunting for dinner. We initially wanted to try a trendy restaurant from Xiaohongshu, but it required reservations or cost around $110 per person! For two adults and two kids, over $400 seemed too steep 😳. We ended up at Saltgrass Steak House (thanks to a friend’s tip) — and it was great! They said an hour wait, but we got seated in 30 minutes 🕐🍽️. We ordered steak, shrimp, and fries — the kids loved it, and the total was just over $80! Highly recommended 👍. 6️⃣ We wanted to do the River Walk boat tour, but staff said buying a ticket didn’t guarantee a ride that night, so we skipped it 🚤😅. The area was super lively — felt like being back home in China! Crowds watched from the bridges, people dined below, and police directed traffic 👮♀️🌉. We also walked through the Alamo historic site. That’s a wrap on today’s adventure — excited for tomorrow! ✌️😊 #SanAntonioTravel #FamilyTrip #SeaWorld #TexasEats #TravelDiaries #RoadTripVibes #KidFriendly #BudgetFriendly #SeeYouTomorrow
