San Antonio | Pure Food & Relaxation 3-Day Trip (Part 2) 🍖🌞
- DAY 2 (Actually Day 3 — I started counting from 0 😅) 📍 Jipin Nuer Craving Chinese food, so we gave it a try. The flavor was... interesting — American-style Chinese, but not bad! We ordered the family-sized popcorn chicken and two desserts. The chicken portion was huge, and the first few bites tasted great (maybe we were just too hungry 🍗), but overall it had a weird sweet aftertaste. Desserts weren’t great. The décor felt nostalgic… in a very dated way. 📍 Pearl District This area is said to be converted from an old brewery — kind of like a quieter version of an artsy district back home? 🎨 Nice for a stroll, especially along the riverfront where you can sit, relax, and soak up the sun 🌿☀️. 📍 Pinkerton’s Barbecue Missed out on BBQ in Houston on New Year’s Eve, so we had to try it on our last night in San Antonio! The line was long, and by 6–7 PM, many meats were sold out. When our turn came, only brisket and pulled pork were left. We meant to order half a pound total, but the server thought we wanted half a pound of each — so they gave us extra. Then they just charged us for half a pound total anyway! Is this Texas hospitality or what? 🤠❤️ Out of three BBQ meals in Texas, Pinkerton’s brisket was the best — Truth BBQ’s was the toughest (almost made us doubt Texas brisket 😨 — maybe just an off day?). San Antonio was the MVP of this trip 🏆. We didn’t hit many tourist spots, but just eating, drinking, and wandering made every day joyful. While Chicago was below freezing, I was wearing dresses in San Antonio 🥰. The weather was perfect — sunny and warm every day, making waking up feel like a gift. Plus, compared to other U.S. cities, it’s super walkable and pedestrian-friendly — great for car-free travelers! #SanAntonio 🌮✨🚶♀️
