🇺🇸 The American South – New Orleans
Started the morning at Oak Alley Plantation. It was super crowded and we even entered through the "back door," but the moment we walked onto that oak-lined avenue, we were completely awestruck 🌳. The Big House requires a guided tour (you can book online or on-site), which covers the history of the sugarcane plantation and slavery—the atmosphere was pretty heavy. In the afternoon, we hopped on a swamp tour 🐊. Our small boat ventured deep into the wetlands, where we saw alligators up close and spotted water birds 🕊️, all while listening to stories about Louisiana’s marshes and Cajun culture. Evening was all about exploring the French Quarter and Jackson Square. The streets were alive with music and people 🎷—such a vibe! (Though parking fees were insane 💸.) We also made a stop at Café du Monde. The beignets and coffee were just okay, but sitting there listening to jazz and soaking it all in? That felt like true New Orleans. #NewOrleans #NOLA #SwampTour #OakAlley #FrenchQuarter #TravelUSA
