🇺🇸 The Ultimate 2-Day Milwaukee Travel Guide

A worry-free trip from start to finish — highly recommend following this plan 😄 📌 Most important info up front: No early wake-ups ✅ Not exhausting ✅ Total cost around $300-400 ✅ It may not be a mind-blowing itinerary, but it’s perfect for those who want a relaxing nearby getaway! 🗓 Day 1 Summary 🚗 Departed from UIUC at 9 AM, arrived in Milwaukee around noon. 🥘 Mader’s Restaurant Classic German cuisine 🇩🇪 You MUST try the pork shank — it’s amazing with sauerkraut! ⚠️ But avoid the soups and liver dumplings… they’re pretty gamey 😅 📍 Milwaukee Art Museum An iconic building — great for photos even from the outside (free!). Tickets are $20💰 for entry. Four floors with tons of exhibits — we didn’t even finish them all! 📍 Lakeshore State Park Right next to the museum — perfect for a walk around the peninsula. So beautiful and photogenic 🌅 Feels like a mini-Alaska! Highly recommend catching the sunset here. 🥘 Bamboo Went here for Thai dinner — there are many Thai spots on that street, so feel free to pick. We recommend the green curry and tom yum soup. Their pad thai? Not very authentic though 🫢 📍 Milwaukee County Zoo Went for the lantern festival 🏮 My friends and I were seriously impressed — the animal lanterns look super real with great details! Very festive Christmas vibe🎄 Ticket was $20💰 🍺 The Crooked Crow Since it was still early, we hit this bar afterward. The bartender was super friendly 🍻, the vibe was lively but not too loud, and NO weed smell 💯 Local beers were under $3 — can’t beat that! 🎉 Day 1 — successfully fun and full of good memories! Part 2 (Day 2) coming soon… #UIUC #UIUCFood #FoodReview #LiuliuqiuEats #100RestaurantsChallenge #FoodieUniverse
