🇺🇸 Utah Travel Day 7 – Cosmic Ashtray Adventure 🚙☄️
📍 Day 7 — Exploring the Cosmic Ashtray! Today’s destination was the incredible Cosmic Ashtray, hidden deep within the Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument. 🌄 We started early from Escalante and drove along the rugged Hole-in-the-Rock Road until we reached the Harris Wash Trailhead. After crossing a dry riverbed and bumping along rough terrain, we eventually had to stop due to deep sand sections. From there, we hiked about 1.5 miles until we finally witnessed the surreal sight known as the "Cosmic Ashtray"—a massive sandstone bowl with orange sand glowing under the sun, making it feel like we were standing on another planet! 👽✨ 👉 We visited both the north and south viewpoints, but without climbing ropes, we couldn’t descend into the bowl (leaving a reason to return someday!). ⚠️ Important: Do NOT attempt this without a 4WD vehicle! 🪨 On our way back, we made a stop at Devil’s Garden—a fascinating area with whimsical rock formations that felt like stepping into a fairy-tale maze. 🌅 In the afternoon, we drove toward Capitol Reef National Park. The scenic route was so breathtaking we didn’t want to blink! After arriving in the quaint town of Torrey, we raced against the sunset to reach Sunset Point inside the park. Watching the red cliffs ignite under the golden glow was the perfect end to an unforgettable day. 🌄❤️ #UtahTravel #Escalante #CapitolReefNationalPark #CapitolReef #CosmicAshtray #AdventureTime #ExploreUtah #NationalMonument #OffTheBeatenPath #DesertLandscapes #RoadTripUSA #HikingAdventures #NatureWonders #OutdoorExplorer
