🇺🇸 Vanderbilt University: The "Harvard of the South" 🎓
Just came back from Nashville and wanted to share some quick impressions of Vanderbilt University and recommendations for food & fun in downtown! Here’s the rundown: 🏫 About the Campus: The campus is absolutely beautiful – especially in the fall 🍂. Full of historic vibes and a great academic atmosphere. Saw quite a few Asian students too, so definitely a welcoming place! It’s an open campus spread across both sides of the street. The med school is huge – it’s literally a full-scale hospital 🏥. You can tell the programs are well-established. I especially loved visiting Peabody College (the white building in the pics 👩🏼🏫), since I’m into education too. ❌❌ AVOID: The cafeteria near Peabody… one of the worst college dining experiences I’ve had in the U.S. 😭 (See Pic 7 – no cap!) ✈️ Nashville Travel Tips: (Capital of Tennessee!) Downtown’s Fifth Avenue is great for shopping and vibes – kinda gives(Wangfujing) energy! There’s even a movie theater. Check out the famous Honky Tonk Highway 🎸 – Nashville’s iconic bar street. It’s lively and lit (literally 💡), but can get rowdy. Don’t go alone – bring friends! As the hometown of country music and Taylor Swift, the atmosphere is electric! SHABU-SHABU Hot Pot 🍲 – $27 per person A MUST-GO!! So authentic and satisfying. You can choose extra-spicy broth, and they have unlimited beef 🥩, fresh crawfish 🦞, basa fish, shellfish, tripe, you name it! Their Thai bubble tea 🧋 is amazing too. ⚠️ I’m obsessed 😭 This place is super popular – be prepared to wait. Go early! #Vanderbilt #Nashville #NashvilleFood #Tennessee #USATravel 🎒📸
