🇺🇸 Wisconsin 2-Day Trip
If you're traveling to Chicago, I highly recommend heading north to Wisconsin for a visit! Just a 1.5-hour train ride gets you to Milwaukee 🚆✨. Trains run multiple times daily—super convenient. I stayed at the Hilton Downtown. The room was a bit dated, but the building itself had charm 🏨. Although the city center is small, I rented a car to explore nearby areas. Milwaukee's attractions can be covered in about a day and a half. 🏛️ Pabst Mansion The former home of the Pabst Blue Ribbon founder—beautifully preserved with luxurious interiors. Tours are available every hour. 🍱 Milwaukee Public Market A lovely market with restaurants, gift shops, butcher stalls, and more 🛍️🍴. Perfect for lunch and casual exploring. 🏛️ Harley-Davidson Museum A must for motorcycle lovers 🏍️❤️. Exhibits showcase over a century of Harley designs. Spacious, industrial-style museum—allow 2-3 hours. The gift shop is unique too! 🏛️ Milwaukee Public Museum A massive general museum with natural history exhibits and cultural displays from around the world 🌍🦖. The Latin America section is especially detailed. Plan for 3+ hours. 🏛️ Milwaukee Art Museum Stunning minimalist architecture 🏛️🌊. The collection is decent—I loved the 20th-century industrial design exhibit. The nearby lakefront park is peaceful and great for a stroll. 🍺 Lakefront Brewery A cozy brewery with a restaurant 🍻. Book a tour—tickets include 4 beer samples! Milwaukee has several other breweries worth visiting too. 🚗 Drive 1 hour west from Milwaukee to Madison, the state capital. 🏛️ Wisconsin State Capitol Free to enter—opulent and grand 💫. You can go up to the dome for a beautiful city view. Madison is a charming small city nestled between two lakes 🌅. 🚗 Another hour west leads to Taliesin, the former home and studio of architect Frank Lloyd Wright 🏡✏️. A must-see for architecture fans! Several tour options are available—book in advance. 🏛️ Taliesin is a full estate with classrooms, a theater, residences, and more. I took a 2-hour tour—very informative and rich in design history and philosophy. 📌 Wright also designed Taliesin West in Phoenix, AZ—another architectural masterpiece.
